“Would you like to know a secret, people speak of Robin Hood, telling stories, they’re all lies… he was not a hero. He were a murderous brigand. We were monstrous… I am the outlaw… Robin Hood.”

So fortells the tale of The Death of Robin Hood, a brooding, dark and raw rein-visioning of one of myths greatest ever figures as filmmaker Michael Sarnoski reinterprets the legend of Robin Hood not as a noble hero, but instead an unreprentent thief and murderer who by divine intervention is given one last chance at redemption and honour, and what lies ahead, courtesy of A24 Films is one of the most exciting forthcoming releases of 2026.

Watch the brand new teaser trailer for The Death of Robin Hood below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman) finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.

Drawing from the legend and history of Robin Hood, particularly the famous ballad, “Robin Hood’s Death”, Sarnoski finds a new path into this legendary figure, and channels his dark and jaded view of the character through the impressive presence and performance of Hollywood A-lister Hugh Jackman.

In what looks to be his best dramatic performance since Les Misérables, Jackman pours all of himself into this broken, battle-scarred rogue and outlaw who finds his wounded body cared for by a mysterious young women (Jodie Comer), and his services as a warrior are called upon to aid a group of orphaned children in an isolated monastery. Jackman delivers an incredible level of emotion and resonace in this footage, and you can feel the intensity and gravitas that is stake, in this, his final mission.

This first look really holds back an semblence of the overall narrative of the piece, and instead just gives audiences a first impression of what awaits in The Death of Robin Hood, dark, brooding and with ideal of secrey, myth, revelation and salvation at its core, audiences who are seeking cinema with bite will be utterly rewarded with this picture, and the story that it seeks to deliver.

Joining Jackman in the picture are two incredible performers with Jodie Comer and Bill Skarsgard, and both make brief appearances in this early footage. While the trailer is yet to shed light on Comer’s mysterious female character who brings the ailing Robin into her care and service, she certainly makes a strong impression in the trailer, while Skarsgard will portray Little John, here a brutish former child soldier and enforcer for Robin’s gang of outlaws, and who is the last of the band of ‘Merry Men’, and who harbours a bitter resentment towards his former master.

Autuer horror filmmaker Robert Eggers takes audiences into the very abyss of darkness with his long-awaited passion project, Nosferatu, an adaptation of the seminal 1922 horror film F. W. Murnau Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror. The new trailer is utterly chilling to the bone.

Watch the all-new trailer for Nosferatu here:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

Building off of the initial fright that audiences witness in the teaser trailer, this official trailer places audiences inside an 19th century Gothic nightmare as the young and beautiful ingenue Ellen Hutter (Lily Rose-Depp) falls under the guise if a devilish evil.. and all suffer in its wake.

The official trailer pulls audiences deeper into the ambience, texture, and dread that Eggers conjures in Nosferatu, and you feel the pull of a sinister force that will consume everything in its path. Its dark and gothic beats are certain to leave your skin crawling, and it’s clear that Eggers has produced a picture that could again follow in F. W. Murnau’s 1922 original and could very well be one of the defining horror films of a new generation.

Sight unseen un the trailer is Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok. And he is literally evil incarnate. Eggers and his team are saving the reveal of Orlock, and all we get is the shadow and whisper of this character whom Nicholas Hoult’s Thomas Hutter describes as ‘the devil’, and who has an infatuation and lust for his new wife Ellen, that will lead to madness, plague and death. Every step of the way you feel Orlock’s unnatural desire to consume Ellen and all she loves dear, and its these actions that leave audiences with a definite chill running down their spines.

One of the most intriguing and innovative filmmakers working today is, without a doubt, Robert Eggers. Through his three feature films, The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman, he has shown that he is a creative force to be reckoned with. Now, he’s ready to take things up a notch with a completely atmospheric and chilling new adaptation of F. W. Murnau’s Nosferatu. And this trailer will leave you gasping for breath.

Watch the brand new first trailer for Nosferatu below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

Writer/director Robert Eggers is a true craftsman at heart, and his films impact viewers with their attention to detail, meticulous ambience and thrilling sense of narrative and character. Eggers brings that same sense of gravitas to his new look Nosferatu, which is a new adaptation of the classic horror piece, Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens, by director F. W. Murnau and screenwriter Henrik Galeen, and which now stands as a classic example of German expressionistic cinema. And after 102 years, the horror returns!

This first-look trailer offers audiences an atmospheric and intense piece of filmmaking that will fill them with dread and promise lashings of blood. Eggers has commented that he wants to produce a film that is a straight-up ‘gothic horror’, and this new work looks utterly terrifying in its construction. Nosferatu has long served as Eggers’ passion project, and you can sense that he’s crafting a film where the focus is to scare the living hell out of audiences.

To bring Nosferatu out of the shadows, Eggers has assembled an incredible cast of actors, including Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe, and all of them are at the top of their game with their performances in this picture. Lily-Rose Depp is flawlessly cast as Ellen Hutter, an innocent who falls under the dark spell of a demonic force, and you can feel her sense of fairness intensely in this first footage. Nicholas Hoult’s Thomas Hutter is a man possessed, and you can see his desperate sanity failing as he tries to make sense of the horrors around him. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Emma Corrin make a great pairing of Friedrich and Anna Harding and will add a good dose of vigour to the production. At the same time, Willem Dafoe Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz appears as a dangerous vampire hunting force. You can sense the obsession and, dare I say, a touch of madness as he strives to eradicate the dark force he has encountered.

As yet unseen but already channelling a terrifying presence of pure evil is Bill Skarsgård, who brings to life the iconic presence of Count Orlock, cinema’s original horror monster, and while he’s yet to be clearly seen, his devilish spectre is deeply felt in this trailer. Eggers has heaped significant praise upon Skarsgård’s performance here as Orlock, calling his performance ‘transformative’ and commenting on Skarsgård’s performance, saying, “‘What would a dead Transylvanian nobleman actually look like for real?’ Bill lost a tremendous amount of weight. He’s so transformed in every aspect that I don’t know if people will give him the credit,” said Eggers. “You can see Bill [as Pennywise] in the It make-up; you can’t detect any Bill here. He worked with an opera coach to lower his voice an octave. I think people are going to think we treated it digitally, but that’s his performance.”

This first trailer for Nosferatu is just a tease of the horror that is to come. With its stalking terror, it will surely scare the living hell out of audiences when it arrives in cinemas this Christmas.

Three. Two. One. FIGHT! Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World is ready to crash into cinemas, and this is a full-on rush of action-anime-cartoon inspired glory that goes for it in every possible way, and the result is a pure cult film in the making!

“Boy” (Bill Skarsgård) vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Yayan Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.

A first-time director, Moritz Mohr holds nothing back with Boy Kills World, an all-out action spectacle that draws on his love of Hong Kong action cinema, anime, Western-driven comic books and Saturday morning cartoons, and the result is a pure insane spectacle of candy-coloured fun! At its core, Boy Kills World is a straightforward and simple revenge film with “Boy” (Bill Skarsgård) seeking revenge on the fanatical overlords who killed his family, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get his revenge. What follows is a cranked-up 111 minutes of pure maniac creativity, and the result will flaw your whole being. From its bone-crunching fight scenes to innovative camera work, bizarre interpersonal reactions and strong, almost anti-violence message (and yes, I know that’s paradoxical), Boy Kills World is something totally fresh and unique, and marks Mohr out as a talent to keep a serious eye on.

Stepping into the arena and ready to lay on the beat down is rising star Bill Skarsgård, and he goes to town with this picture. Not only is he INCREDIBLY cut for the role, but this is a performance-driven entirely through non-verbal expression, and Skarsgård draws from Chaplin and Keaton in his performance as Boy. His performance is driven by expression and action, and he delivers plenty of emotion. There’s also the action part, and Skarsgård throws himself into the ringer as he takes on the army of the Van Der Koys, and all hell breaks loose as he unleashes his fists of fury! Skarsgård’s performance is complemented by the presence of H. Jon Benjamin as ‘his’ voice and his inner monologues are filled with plenty of humour and whimsy that only add to the fun.

Facing down Boy are the repellent Van Der Koys and their number one enforcer June 27 (Jessica Rothe). Famke Janssen, as the matriarchial Hilda Van Der Koy and ruler of the totalitarian hellscape, is a wicked force to behold, and her madness sets Boy off on his mission of revenge. Michelle Dockery has plenty of fun as Melanie Van Der Koy, Hilda’s sister, and a glammed-up Uber bitch who is the power behind the throne and whose erratic tantrums make her an utter scene stealer. Brett Gelman brings the hysterics as Gideon Van Der Koy, the muscle behind the Van Der Koy’s, who in reality is actually a starving artist desperate for attention, and he’s hilarious to watch. Finally Sharlto Copley’s Glen Van Der Koy is a Grade A idiot pretty boy who isn’t pretty for very long! Jessica Rothe rounds out the pack as the lethal yet honour-bound June 27, and she throws about a pair of tomahawks with lethal force that makes her a damn scary BOSS for Boy to take on.

Boy Kills World is a movie event of utter action OVERLOAD, and fight choreographer and stunt director Dawid Szatarski turns the volume up with the action fest, and the results are incredible to witness! Drawing on martial arts including Pencak Silat, Arnis, Thai Kickboxing and general Mixed Martial Arts, plus with the addition of plenty of blades and bullets at the ready, Boy Kills World is a full-on ballet of blood, guts and gore as Boy goes for it and unleashes his power as the ultimate weapon! Three stand-out fights include the film’s opening ‘Warehouse’ fight scene, the ‘Kitchen Cheese Grater’ fight, along with the penultimate’ BOSS LEVEL’ fight where it’s karambits at the ready, and it is a bloody, brutal and batshit crazy mix of bouts to watch. The way cinematographer Peter Matjasko captures all of it adds to the excitement and thrill, and his innovative camera work puts you right in the midst of the fight.

With its straight-up originality and total dash of madness, Boy Kills World is one of the best times I’ve had in a cinema all year. This is a thrilling, all-out action fest that doesn’t stop for a moment. Innovative and looking to do something different within the genre, it’s a pure rumble of creative action expression and is just straight-out fun!

The wrong things will be put right in an all-new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult graphic novel The Crow arrives on the screen with a brand new sense of energy and violence, and revenge is about to get bloody.

Watch the all-new trailer for The Crow below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

Cinema’s original anti-superhero film, The Crow, finds new energy and plenty of gory action in a new adaptation that aims to bring a new side to the story to life. Filmmaker Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) amps up the energy and finds the line between the light and dark as he seeks to explore the story’s ‘tragic love’ in greater depth and the horrors that arise when such a love is taken from those deserving of it.

Sander’s direction of the subject is not to have done a literal copy of the first film, nor has he tried to bring about the same moody MTV-laced goth rock energy of the early 1990s, but instead, he’s looking to bring a new style and visual language for an entirely new generation. Sanders has also talked about his desire to explore the film’s use of Greek tragedy and ideas of love, loss and rage, and he’s working to present a story that takes the original source in a new direction to both pay respect to the universality of the original story, but also to find a new energy to the story.

Sanders has also been open with his desire to pay respect to the original film, the direction of Alex Proyas and the immortal performance given by the late great Brandon Lee, and he hopes that his version will honour the spirit of the original while also offering up something different. Sanders has also praised Bill Skarsgard’s total performance as an actor and how hard he worked as a performer to honour the spirit of Brandon Lee in his new take on the character.

Star Bill Skarsgard looks entirely monstrous as he transforms into a vengeful spirit as the resurrected Eric Draven, and there’s a violence and malice to his performance as he sets down the path of revenge. His stature and shredded physique only add to his intimidating presence, and his mastery of drama will make audiences sit up and take notice.

Speaking on the story and its subject, Skarsgard has said, “I was a huge fan of the original film growing up as a kid and was so honoured to take on the role of Eric Draven. But really what drew me to it was what Rupert Sanders wanted to do with it. He wanted to completely reimagine the story and the character and tailor it towards a modern audience. It’s a character that I know many revere and have a strong connection to – he is unlike any I’ve ever taken on before. Working with the remarkably talented FKA Twigs was magical. I felt a responsibility to Eric’s story and endeavored to stay true to the spirit of the source material; I can’t wait for the world to see the film, and hope it resonates with audiences as strongly as it did with those of us involved.”

This new adaptation also focuses deeply on the shared connection between Eric and Shelley, played here by artist FKA Twiggs. In these quick opening shots, you do feel the connection, love, and sexual energy shared between the two of them. Where the original film’s love story was revealed in flashback, in this version, it will be right at the heart of the story, and it will only add to the fury that Eric feels.

Speaking on her performance in the film and of working with Bill Skarsgard, Twiggs said, “I am so thrilled to be in THE CROW alongside the talented Bill Skarsgard and extraordinary director Rupert Sanders. The love Bill and I share on screen is effortless and indicative of the authenticity and ease that I dreamed of bringing to the role of Shelley. Eric and Shelley’s unbreakable unity is so profound and beautiful, something I hope we all feel at least once as part of the human experience. I am so excited that the trailer is being unveiled and even more excited to have the world see the film this summer.”

The violence and action of The Crow will really be turned up this time, and from this first footage, it’s a brutally bloody watch. As a returned soul with the power of immortality, Skarsgard’s Eric Draven is hell-bent on revenge, and he spills a whole heap of blood in his mission of carnage. From shotgun blasts to the chest to literally removing a samurai sword from his chest before slicing an adversary in half, The Crow has the violence ramped up, and you feel the baying pain that Eric levels on those who wronged him.

1994’s The Crow is regarded as a seminal action movie. Not only did director Alex Proyas bring a new gothically charged sensibility and style to the genre, but it served as the tragic final role for the beautiful and gifted Brandon Lee, who died in a freak accident on set. The film stands as a fitting tribute to Brandon’s talent and character, and anyone who watches it falls under its incredible power.

Now, more than 30 years later, James O’Barr’s The Crow is set to return to cinemas courtesy of director Rupert Sanders, and we’ve been lucky enough to be treated to some first-look images of the story. And it’s going in a radically new direction.

Speaking with Vanity Fair and discussing the project, Sanders said, “what drew me to this was the opportunity to make a dark romance, something that dealt with loss, grief, and the ethereal veil between life and death and reaching through that,” says Sanders, he also adds in a quippy tone of voice “look, I grew up listening to Joy Division and the Cure, and this movie is a bit like a Cure song—the beauty of melancholy.”

Since the 1994 film and the four sequels that followed, many filmmakers have tried to resurrect the project and break new ground with a host of different actors circling the role, including Mark Wahlberg, Bradly Cooper, Luke Evans, Jack Huston and Jason Momoa, who were all tipped to star in the film before Bill Skarsgard was cast (his elder brother Alex Skarsgard was at one time also a heavy contender for the role), and the result looks radically different.

Sanders is completely aware of the reaction that will arise from fans of Brandon Lee’s work in the original film, and he himself is a fan. He clarified his vision with the 1994 saying, “Obviously, it was a terrible tragedy, and it’s definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film,” he says. “Brandon was an original voice, and I think he will always be synonymous with The Crow, and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again. His soul is very much alive in this film. There’s a real fragility and beauty to his version of the Crow, and I think Bill feels like he is a successor to that.”

Sanders has also said that his film, unlike the 1994 version, will have its romance at the forefront of the picture, compared to telling it in flashback, and that the vengeance will kick in during the second to third act. Sanders has done this as he wants to build and explore the love story between Eric Draven (Skarsgard) and Shelly (FKA Twigs), to not only give the story more emotional relevance but also to give it a new tempo and rhythm.

Of the chemistry between Skarsgard and Twiggs, Sanders commented, saying, “I never did any tests between Bill and Twigs,” says the director. “I had them for dinner when they first arrived [on set] in Prague and I was a bit like a nervous parent looking to see if there were any sparks, because you don’t know. And they were great. They hung out and were straight into it.”

Obviously, the design of Eric’s new ‘Crow’ loom will also take audiences by surprise, and again, this is a conscious choice on behalf of Sanders to try something different and new, and that he drew on experiences from his own life to give the character a new look.

“I think the beauty of Bill is that he has a disturbing beauty, and as he transforms through his loss he becomes this thing that even he can’t control. It’s that famous line: ‘Whoever fights monsters must be careful that they don’t become one.’ That look was me in the ’90s when we were squat-raving in London, [mixed with some modern influences] like Post Malone and Lil Peep. I hope people who are 19 today look at him and go, ‘That guy is us.'” That image captures the beginning of his transformation into the Crow. “It’s the moment we realize bad things are coming.”

But what’s my take on Bill Skarsgard’s new look as Eric Draven? I’m intrigued. When you first look at his Eric, it’s a jarring thing to see, as Brandon Lee’s image as Eric Draven has been with us for the last thirty years, and as one of my top ten films of all time, I wasn’t expecting this new look. But on contemplation, I’m very impressed and excited to see what comes next. Yes, fans will chatter with the words’ hard pass’, but it feels like Sanders is deliberately not trying to give us a rehash of the first film, and instead looking to find new avenues and expression from the original text.

The look and style of this adaptation feel different from the original film, and I think that’s important and, in all actuality, very exciting. It’s different, it’s new, and this isn’t us diving back into the 1990s goth culture, but Sanders exploring how this character could look and be like in a contemporary setting.

I also believe fans need to be patient with this picture and view Sander’s The Crow as a new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult graphic novel. I think there’s a special kind of beauty and interest there, and an elevation that The Crow, first published in 1989 by Caliber Comics, is now verified as a great work of literature and seeks other artists who want to adapt it in their own style in voice, but also honouring the source material.

How many adaptations of Romeo & Juliet and Dune, or even Batman or Spider-Man, do we have, each with their own artistic style and merit, and all of which make an impact on the audience? I think if we view this Adaptation of The Crow in this style, we’ll get something interesting, and I’m keen to see what comes next.

Ready. Set. Fight! Brace yourself, action fans, because the noise is about to be dialled all the way up to 100 with the release of the first trailer for the post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, action insanity rollercoaster experience that is Boy Kills World. And this trailer looks ABSOLUTELY NUTS!

Watch the absolutely MENTAL first trailer for Boy Kills World below:

Here’s the official synopsis for Boy Kills World:

Bill Skarsgård stars as “Boy” who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents.

Ever since we first saw a snapshot of a thoroughly ripped Bill Skarsgard and learned that he was going to be starring in a movie called Boy Kills World, we were instantly down for all the chaos that awaited, and this trailer looks utterly WILD! Directed Moritz Mohr, and concieved from a story by Mohr, Tyler Burton Smith, and Arend Remmers, Boy Kills World has the makings of an instant cult classic, and with its mix of video game ultraviolence, off-beat comedy, and sci-fi cultural comedy, it’s going to be an experience that takes audiences for a ride.

Along with getting absolutely jacked for the new project, Bill Skarsgard looks to really be stretching himself as an actor with the character of Boy. In what will be an all-star year for the young actor, with the likes of The Crow and Nosferatu also being lined up for release, Skarsgard really goes for it with this picture, and Mohr looks like they really wanted to push the envelope with this one.

The originality and straight-up madness of Boy Kills World has also pulled in an impressive supporting cast to the picture with the likes of Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, with Andrew Koji, Sharlto Copley and Famke Janssen all being attached to the project, and Boy Kills World is shaping up to be the maddest watch of the year!

Get ready for something wild and totally out of left field when Boy Kills World arrives in cinemas this year!
