Prime Video has just unleashed the first-look images for Scarpetta, and trust us, crime thriller fans are about to have their pulses sent skyrocketing. Adapted from Patricia Cornwell’s iconic, era-defining book series, this is the long-awaited moment Kay Scarpetta devotees have been dreaming of for decades. With more than 120 million copies sold globally since Scarpetta first stepped onto the page in 1990, the character finally slices her way onto the screen in a prestige, big-swing adaptation led by Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Television.

And mark your calendars now: Scarpetta premieres March 11, 2026, streaming exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. This one is global. This one is huge. And from the looks of these first images… this one is going to cut deep.

Oscar winner Nicole Kidman steps into the role of Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the brilliant, relentless, cold-steel medical examiner whose scalpel-sharp mind has enthralled readers for decades. Kidman’s Scarpetta is a woman who refuses to be intimidated: whether by grisly crime scenes, the ghosts of the past, or a serial killer who’s not finished with her yet.

This adaptation leans hard into what fans love: Scarpetta’s unwavering commitment to giving victims a voice, her forensic brilliance, and the emotional weight that comes with being the last line of truth in a world built on lies. And yes, that legendary “career-making case” from nearly thirty years ago? It’s coming back with a vengeance, and Scarpetta is determined it won’t be the case that finally breaks her.

At the helm is Emmy-nominated writer and showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry, Lost), a storyteller who knows how to build tension, character, and dread with masterful precision. Sarnoff crafts Scarpetta as a dual-timeline psychological thriller, tracing Kay’s evolution from a rising Chief Medical Examiner in the late ’90s to her modern-day return to her hometown, and the bloody case waiting for her.

Expect a series that digs deeper than the average crime procedural. This is about trauma, identity, obsession, and the price demanded by justice. Secrets rot beneath the surface, loyalties are strained, scars are reopened, and family ties, especially the fraught relationship between Kay and her sister Dorothy, threaten to combust under pressure.

Prime Video has assembled a knockout cast to bring Cornwell’s characters to the screen:

Nicole Kidman as Dr. Kay Scarpetta — forensic pathologist, truth-seeker, lionheart.

Jamie Lee Curtis as Dorothy Farinelli — Kay’s complicated, sharp-edged sister with secrets of her own.

Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino — Scarpetta’s longtime ally, confidant, and occasional thorn.

Simon Baker as Benton Wesley — the cool, calculating FBI profiler who’s as enigmatic as he is brilliant.

Ariana DeBose as Lucy Watson — Kay’s niece, a fearless, tech-prodigy firecracker with skills that could save lives… or destroy them.

Completing the dual-timeline structure are Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish, who bring the younger versions of the core cast to life with intensity and precision.

With powerhouse talent both in front of and behind the camera, a legacy name in the crime genre, and a first-look that already drips with mood, precision, and dread, Scarpetta is shaping up to be one of 2026’s must-watch thrillers.

Crime fans, forensic junkies, psychological drama lovers, sharpen your senses. Kay Scarpetta is coming. And the truth is about to be cut wide open when Scarpetta drops on Prime Video on March 11, 2026.

Okay girlies, grab your butterfly clips and your chunky charm bracelets because Freakier Friday is here, and it’s giving us EVERYTHING we’ve been craving. Disney has cracked the code — a perfect throwback to those early 2000s comedy gems we grew up on, but served with a fresh, modern glow-up. It’s chaotic, it’s heartfelt, it’s laugh-out-loud funny… and yes, the fashion game is chef’s kiss.

Picking up years after their Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter (Julia Butters) of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter (Sophia Hammons). As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.

Directed with a warm, playful energy by Nisha Ganatra, who knows exactly what our inner teen queens want, Freakier Friday dives back into the Coleman family’s wild world; only this time, the family is even bigger, the stakes are higher, and the switches? Oh honey, they’re MULTI-GENERATIONAL. We get heart, hijinks, and that perfect touch of “remember when?” that makes this sequel such a joy.

First things first, Lindsay Lohan is BACK, and our hearts are full. Seeing her as Anna Coleman again is like catching up with your best friend from high school who still knows all the inside jokes. Anna’s life has been flipped upside down (again): she’s planning a wedding to the swoony Eric (Manny Jacinto), she’s a working mom, and she’s raising her own teenage daughter, Harper (played with rebel-girl perfection by Julia Butters). When Anna and Harper switch bodies… chaos doesn’t just ensue, it explodes. Lohan throws herself into the role with the same comedic sparkle we fell in love with 20 years ago, balancing awkward teen energy with genuine heart.

And then there’s our eternal queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. As Tess Coleman, she’s already iconic — but this time she’s switching bodies with Lily Reyes (Sophia Hammons), a Gen Alpha teen with big opinions and bigger TikTok energy. Curtis nails every beat, from awkwardly navigating a high school cafeteria to tackling a “cool teen” wardrobe with questionable results. Her book launch scene spiraling into complete anarchy? Gold. Watching her panic-buy denture cream in a teenage body while monologuing about aging fears? Comedy perfection.

The younger duo, Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons, get their moment to shine too. Seeing them swap into the chaos of parent life is hilarious, especially when they try to “act like adults” but end up parenting with all the patience of, well, actual teenagers. This multi-swap twist is fresh, fun, and amps up the comedy while letting the new generation stamp their own personality on the Freaky Friday brand.

And speaking of nostalgia bombs, Chad Michael Murray is back, baby. Older, hotter, and still rocking those Jake Austin vibes that made our teenage hearts swoon. He brings equal parts charm and goofiness, with one scene between “Harper-as-Anna” and Jake flirting so awkwardly that you’ll be laughing into your popcorn. There’s also a subtle will-they/won’t-they tease between Jake and Tess that feels like a cheeky wink to longtime fans.

But Disney didn’t stop there: they went full fan-service in the best way. Original cast members return, from Christina Vidal Mitchell as Maddie to Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Bates (now Harper’s teacher; the chaos continues) to Rosalind Chao’s Mama P, still getting dragged into the Coleman family’s madness. Pink Slip is back for a full-on rock-out moment that will have you screaming lyrics you haven’t sung since 2003. And yes, we even get a Parent Trap mini-reunion with Elaine Hendrix sharing screen time with Lohan again; millennial serotonin boost unlocked.

The film is more than just a comedy though. Under all the body-swapping madness, it’s got a beating heart. It’s about blended families, growing pains, and realizing that sometimes the people who drive you the craziest are also the ones who love you the most. There’s a sweetness here that makes the big laughs hit even harder, and you can feel that everyone on screen is having as much fun making this as we are watching it.

Visually, it’s as candy-colored and vibrant as you’d hope — think bold wardrobes, chaotic set-pieces, and just enough glitter to make you feel like you’re living in a 2005 teen rom-com again. The soundtrack slaps too, mixing nostalgic tracks with fresh hits that Gen Z will claim for their TikTok edits.

By the time the credits roll, you’ll be smiling like you just rewatched your entire DVD collection from intermediate. Freakier Friday nails the tricky balance between giving us the comfort of the past and the sparkle of the now. For millennials, it’s a warm hug from our pop culture adolescence. For Gen Z, it’s proof that mom (or grandma) really was cool back in the day — and still is.

So yes, this movie is for the girls, the gays, and anyone who ever wanted to trade places for a day just to see what happens. It’s joyful, chaotic, fashion-forward fun, and if you weren’t already planning a rewatch of the original after seeing it, well… trust me, you will.

It all ends with this. It’s been an event 40 years in the making but Laurie Strode is ready to come face-to-face with her boogeyman for the last time in Halloween Ends. And everything’s on the line in this final chapter of the bloody, gore-filled saga of Michael Meyers.

Four years after her last encounter with masked killer Michael Myers, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. Myers hasn’t been seen since, and Laurie finally decides to liberate herself from rage and fear and embrace life. However, when a young man stands accused of murdering a boy that he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that forces Laurie to confront the evil she can’t control.

Beginning with 2018’s Halloween, director David Gordon Green had a grand vision for the Halloween franchise and a desire to bring back the fear in the form of the original bogeyman himself, Michael Meyers. Returning to John Carpenter’s original cinematic landscape, he has continued the story of cinema’s first ‘final girl’, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), and through this new narrative, Green has unleashed the plague of Michael Meyers upon Haddonfield once more, with the kill counter growing with each new chapter. Now with Halloween Ends, Green sets out to tell the final chapter of the Halloween mythos, and the narrative takes an interesting turn with this story.

In Halloween Ends, Green turns his attention away from Laurie and focuses outwards on the town of Haddonfield and its almost cursed existence thanks to the crimes of Michael Myers. While I don’t want to run too deeply into it for fear of spoilers, Haddonfield is a place where evil, suffering and pain linger and even with the disappearance of Michael Meyers at the end of Halloween Kills, the pain still lingers. This presence of a curse and Michael’s personification as a literal force of evil leads to some very interesting moments within the narrative of Halloween Ends. This is particularly apparent in relation to Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and her new boyfriend Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), a young man with a tragic past who has felt first-hand the presence of Michael Meyer’s evil.

Green plays against the expectations of the audience with Halloween Ends, and you go in thinking this film will be one thing, and it turns out to be something else entirely. There’s a freshness to this narrative, and be prepared for some very creative jump scares that will have you leaping out of your seat out of fear and fright. The kills are nasty and intense, and the film’s narrative leads to some interesting slashing moments that are sure to shock fans.

But in the film’s final act it all comes down to a showdown between Laurie and Michael. And it’s particularly gnarly and gruesome. There’s no complication of excessive fight choreography, this is a messy, nasty brawl for survival with Laurie throwing everything at her monster. Knives stab, and blood flows, and in this final act we see Laurie putting an end to the fear, pain and horror of the past. Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat in this gritty final brawl that once and for all leaves a final statement on the evil that is Michael Meyers.

Halloween Ends is the definitive final moment of the Michael Meyers saga, and the gore and blood flow, and audiences seeking a fright will get it with this film.

Draw your curtains, lock your doors and pray for survival because October 31st is fast approaching and the ultimate evil that is Michael Myers is set to return 40 years on to bring you horrific nightmares of terror in Halloween.

Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes face-to-face for one final encounter with Michael Myers, 40 years after his initial killing spree on Halloween night.

As my all-time favourite horror film I was incredibly intrigued when I saw that a new Halloween movie was on its way to theaters and director David Gordon Green didn’t disappoint with this re-imagining of a classic tale that reconnects everything back to the classic 1978 horror masterpiece that spawned a genre, and with this long awaited sequel he really brings the terror to the big screen.

Halloween is an exercise in tension and every minute that ticks by is guaranteed to make your blood run colder. The premise is simple and to the point as Michael Myers manages to escape while being transported to a maximum security hellhole and thus begins his rampage on the inhabitants of Haddonfield, Illinois, all over again.

I was really impressed with the tone and pacing of this long awaited Halloween sequel and as a director Green was certainly able to make the film his own, while still reconnecting it back to the original work by John Carpenter, who serves as an executive-producer on the project. Green strikes the right balance between the heightened suspense of the original along with nailing the lashings of gore that modern audiences expect from today’s horror cinema and he certainly had me cowering behind my seat.

The original scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis also returns to Halloween and her portrayal of Laurie Strode definitely catches you by surprise. Forty years on Laurie is a burnt-our survivalist nutcase who has a really bad case of PTSD and who has spent her entire life training and laying in wait for the return of Michael Myers so she can finally end his evil……all to the detriment of her family and her own sanity. It’s the most unhinged role that I’ve ever seen Curtis play and you really buy into her paranoia and obsessive preparation to confront this ultimate evil.

Halloween is very much the portrait of an American family of women from grandmother Laurie to her uptight and fairly normal adult daughter Karen (Judy Greer) who is oblivious to her mother’s panic at Michael Myers and finally to Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson, played by a scene stealing Andi Matichak, who knows of the stories behind her families dark history and who shares a special bond with her grandmother.

When these three generation of Strode women have to confront Myers you get a full picture of the alpha mother persona, the character of mother as protector who no matter the threat or predator is willing to go to extreme lengths to protect her young. This persona is present in all three of the Strode women and I was very happy to see how their fight for survival was captured up on screen.

If you’re talking Halloween then you must talk about serial killer, and the original slasher icon, Michael Myers….and he’s back and more scarier than ever here. Described as the personification of pure evil, Michael Myers is a figure who will most certainly haunt your dreams and here he returns with a vengeance to take back Halloween night. In a cool twist we get to see the return of the original Shape himself in the form of Nick Castle who reprises the role of Myers and who alongside James Jude Courtney really brings this savage killer to life.

Green masterfully uses suspense and the threat of increasing shock to make you shiver in your seat and jump up right when Myers does indeed strike. In terms of the horror I really liked that Green didn’t rely solely on jump scares to build tension through the film and instead works to create what I would described as a ‘terror film.’ The cinematography of Michael Simmonds also comes into play here in building the film’s heightened level of suspense and features an incredibly complex steadicam shot that takes you right into the very heart of the carnage. It’s a masterful scene and I was mesmerized by its construction and how it helped to play out the journey of Michael’s rampage through the streets of Haddonfield, Illinois.

And the twists and shocks along the way, well….they certainly come at you and while I won’t mention spoilers I will say that the narrative certainly zags when you think it will zig and this made Halloween one of the most original horror films I’ve seen for a very long time.

If you like your horror with a sharp edge to it then I can most certainly recommend Halloween….but you might want to sleep with the light on and pray The Shape doesn’t come looking for you.
