There’s something irresistible about watching the rich, powerful and utterly ruthless tear each other apart. From Succession to The White Lotus and Industry, prestige television has made an art form out of beautiful people behaving terribly — and now the lawyers are stepping into the ring.

WAR is a slick, fast-moving legal drama that throws audiences into the vicious world of London’s most prestigious law firms, where ambition is currency and winning is everything.

Created by George Kay, the mastermind behind Lupin, Criminal and Hijack, the eight-episode anthology series centres on rival firms Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne as they go head-to-head over a spectacularly messy divorce.

At the centre of the storm are billionaire tech mogul Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and his film-star wife Carla Duvall (Sienna Miller). With a billion-dollar fortune hanging in the balance, this isn’t going to be an amicable separation.

The gloves are off. And the lawyers are ready.

Everybody Has Something to Lose

West and Miller are perfectly cast as the warring couple. Both bring serious dramatic pedigree to the battlefield, and their chemistry crackles as Morgan and Carla’s relationship mutates from marriage to full-scale warfare.

What makes WAR particularly juicy is how quickly loyalties begin to shift. Just when you think you know who deserves your sympathy, the series pulls the rug out.

Nobody plays fair when money, fame and power are involved — and West and Miller clearly relish every deliciously nasty moment.

Welcome to the Firm

The real fun, however, happens behind the scenes.

WAR expands beyond its headline-making clients to explore the lawyers fighting their battles, and this is where the series finds its teeth.

Archie Renaux brings considerable charm to ambitious solicitor Jonathan ‘Jonny’ Warren, whose desire to prove himself pulls him deeper into the increasingly tangled world surrounding the case.

Phoebe Fox and James McArdle bring plenty of spark to Serene Byrne and Nicholas Taylor, the husband-and-wife partners fighting Carla’s corner. Their professional partnership is tested as the case becomes increasingly personal, while Nina Sosanya’s Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi commands Cathcarts with cool authority.

Then there’s Pip Torrens as St. John Smallwood — an absolute scene-stealer. Erudite, calculating and utterly ruthless, Torrens clearly understands that sometimes the most dangerous person in the room is the one speaking the most softly.

Legal Drama With Bite

WAR moves with the pace of a thriller, piling on tension, scandal and increasingly complicated legal manoeuvring without losing sight of the machinery behind the case.

That balance is one of its greatest strengths. Beneath the heightened drama, the series takes audiences inside the workings of a modern law firm, giving the courtroom battles enough authenticity to make the legal machinations feel grounded.

And with a second season already in motion, introducing two new rival firms and an explosive defamation case, WAR is clearly only getting started.

Verdict: Court is Now in Session

WAR is slick, scandalous and seriously addictive. With Dominic West and Sienna Miller tearing into each other at the centre of it all, this is prestige legal drama with plenty of teeth.

WAR streams on HAYU from October 4, with episodes dropping weekly.

From George Kay, the creator of Lupin and Hijack, the series plunges into the cutthroat world of London’s most prestigious rival law firms, where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy and winning is everything.

Watch the all new trailer for WAR below:

At the centre of the first series is the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and international film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller). Their bitter split quickly becomes a battlefield, with rival firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne prepared to do whatever it takes to secure victory for their respective clients.

Caught in the middle is ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren (Archie Renaux), whose introduction to this ruthless world threatens to change everything he thought he knew about success, loyalty and the law.

Alongside West, Miller and Renaux, the impressive ensemble includes Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens, Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Archie Panjabi and Adrian Scarborough.

With two powerhouse leads, rival legal dynasties and a divorce battle with enough money, power and scandal to burn the courtroom to the ground, WAR looks set to deliver a sharp, stylish and suitably vicious new take on the legal drama.

WAR will be available to stream exclusively on Hayu from Sunday, October 4.

The gloves are off and the action is dialled all the way up in Jack Ryan: Ghost War, the latest explosive chapter in Tom Clancy’s iconic espionage franchise. Returning to the role that redefined him as a full-scale action hero, John Krasinski steps back into the boots of Jack Ryan, and this time the stakes are bigger, darker, and far more personal.

Pulled away from civilian life and thrown straight back into the brutal shadow world of the CIA, Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) finds himself caught in a deadly conspiracy tied to the past actions of his mentor and former boss, CIA Director James Greer (Wendell Pierce). When old sins threaten to unleash catastrophic terrorist violence, Ryan has no choice but to get back in the fight — and things explode fast.

Full-Throttle Espionage Action

Director Andrew Bernstein wastes absolutely no time throwing audiences into the chaos. Ghost War is a full-bore globe-trotting action ride that jumps from Dubai to London to New York with relentless intensity, delivering the kind of muscular espionage spectacle action fans crave.

Bullets fly, buildings erupt, and covert operations spiral into all-out warfare as Bernstein leans hard into the franchise’s tactical thriller roots. The action here feels heavier, grittier, and far more aggressive, with every shootout carrying real weight and impact.

And when the film cuts loose, it REALLY cuts loose. A brutal chase sequence tearing through the streets of London stands out as one of the film’s best moments, while the final act descends into a glorious hailstorm of gunfire, tension, and destruction that culminates with a minigun unloading on full auto. It’s loud, chaotic, and exactly the kind of overclocked action insanity audiences will want from a movie called Jack Ryan: Ghost War.

Krasinski Continues To Own The Role

What continues to make Krasinski’s Jack Ryan so compelling is the balance between intelligence and raw determination. Unlike the invincible super-spies of other franchises, Ryan still feels like a man wrestling with impossible choices, and Ghost War pushes him harder than ever before.

The film explores Ryan’s struggle between the safety of civilian life and the moral responsibility of stepping back into the fire. That emotional conflict gives the film added weight amidst all the explosions and tactical chaos.

Adding extra energy to the mix is Sienna Miller as MI6 operative Emma Marlow, a fierce wildcard agent who charges headfirst into the action. Miller brings serious attitude to the role, and her chemistry with Krasinski injects the film with a sharp edge as the pair blast their way through one dangerous situation after another.

Final Verdict: Tip of the Spear Action

Jack Ryan: Ghost War is exactly what action fans want: hard-hitting espionage thrills, relentless pacing, and enough firepower to shake the walls. It pushes the Ryanverse into a more explosive direction while still keeping the franchise’s grounded political tension intact.

In American Sniper, director Clint Eastwood and star Bradley Cooper pay tribute to modern day warrior Chris Kylie — a man torn between his duty to his country, and the sacrifice of love of his family to serve and protect his fellow Americans.

U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend”. However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. Chris also faces a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world. Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq. But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller) and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.

The Deadliest Sniper In US History

From the opening frame of American Sniper, Eastwood and Cooper set the stakes high, showcasing just how much of Kyle’s life comes down to a choice between life and death, and whether he will make the right decision. Using a very clear structure permeated by Kyle’s four tours of Iraq, Eastwood tells the story of a man who dreamed of being a warrior, and serving his country. For Kyle, this starts with his boyhood in Texas, before we flash to his rough and tumble cowboy days as a rodeo playboy, and his decision to join the SEALs and undertake the grueling harshness of training. When he’s finally deployed to Iraq, Chris quickly proves his skill as a protector.

While the film’s battle campaigns are epic, the strength of American Sniper comes from the way Eastwood handles the relationship between Kyle and his wife Taya, played by a very compelling Sienna Miller. While Kyle’s love and devotion to his wife and family is absolute, his duty to his country and fellow soldiers begins to trump this, and the tension between these two responsibilities is played out in full. We feel the absence of his home life, and the tension it creates is just as enthralling as his battle tours.

The Legend

While Eastwood may be directing the story of American Sniper, it’s star Bradley Cooper who truly brings the incredible character of Chris Kyle to life in the best performance of his career. Cooper’s work is nothing short of transformative, having completely turned himself into this hulking Navy warrior, complete with spot on Texas twang. From his battlefield demeanor as a silent warrior to his relationship that he shares with his wife, Cooper is simply superb. The most powerful scenes come when Chris is forced to weigh up the battlefield decisions he’s has made, and the lives he saved over the ones he couldn’t. It’s a difficult state of mind to access for any actor, but Cooper manages it beautifully.

Chris Kyle was a US Navy SEAL and the most decorated sniper in US military history, and now his story is being brought to the screen in American Sniper by the dual talents of collaborators Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper.

A brand new behind the scenes featurette has just been released, highlighting Kyle’s incredible life story, and the tolls that he faced as both soldier, husband and father, and his journey to reconcile the two. As Clint Eastwood, the film’s directors says, “it’s about a man who is torn between two great responsibilities. His responsibility to his country, and his responsibility to his family.”

The featurette establishes the importance that Eastwood and Cooper placed on honoring Kyle in American Sniper, who was tragically murdered in 2013, for both his family, and his service to his country. His widow Taya Kyle, portrayed by Sienna Miller in the film, appeared to be blown away by Cooper’s performance and the dedication of the filmmakers. “It was like watching Chris in many, many ways. I walked away in awe.”

American Sniper looks to be an absolute cinema tour de force, honouring the complete portrait of a modern day hero as a soldier, brother, husband and father. This is a must-see on January 15.
